Short Bio: Claudia Looi is a copywriter, travel and web content writer. She's dedicated herself to helping entrepreneurs create their online presence with email campaign, sales page and web content. A writer and traveler who has lived and worked in Kuala Lumpur, Auckland and New York in the travel industry for over 12 years and has had the luxury of traveling to almost 30 countries. Currently, her works include writing for tour operators, hotels, real estate, wellness and immigration consulting industries. When not working, you will find her reading or planning her next family trip with her husband and two teens.

Travel Career…
After College, I worked with a tour operator in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was able to meet fellow travelers from around the world..and courageously move myself to Auckland, New Zealand…continuing a career in the travel industry. After three and a half years in New Zealand I moved again…this time to the Big Apple…New York City. I had been a Tour Guide, Tour Leader, Tour Coordinator, Air Ticket Sales Agent, Travel Reservationist, Itinerary Planner, Travel Brochure Writer and Travel Manager. I was in many facets of the travel industry.
Stay at home mom…
I gave up a lucrative career to be home with my children when they were babies. I had a business plan for starting an online travel business when Travelocity and Expedia were non-existent. My limited mindset did not see the future. Look at Travelocity today!
Instead of pursuing my passion, I went for my second best…giving private piano lessons at the comfort of my home. Life was good and comfortable.
Briefly…before 2008, I was living the good life…the American Dream of two children, two cars and a mortgage…staying home with my children and doing business on the side just like a hobby. BAM…2008!!
The Market Crash…
Things got different very quickly. I became an insurance agent…sold life insurance where I sat with families across the kitchen table convincing them the need of life insurance. Most preferred a big screen TV and cable….not the life insurance. I've seen tragedies where spouse and children were left not protected financially.
Then I went into network marketing. Got myself some intensive training on how to prospect on the phone in 2009/2010 not knowing the Internet was changing how we do business.
Needless to say, I spent thousands of dollars in coaching programs on phone prospecting…called thousands of people using the phone with very little result to show. But, I gained one thing…learning of human behaviors and mindsets of middle-class America.
Too messy…
By the end of 2010…I started working with a millionaire copywriting and online marketing coach along with ten high caliber entrepreneurs from across the globe.
Light bulb…
There were no more excuses…no time for that, time to implement what I learn. Within a month of not knowing what I was doing, to making a decision and finding my passion of writing. I discovered I could write…and write really fast as well.
The many experiences of my life have given me content that I can draw from for many years to come. I've always written travel itineraries, travel tips, life and travel insurance proposals, sales proposal and company ads for newspapers while working in the Travel Industry. I've even published a book, which is in the college library (in a foreign language).
Freelance writing career…
So, I put my head down and started writing and writing.
Was I scared? Yes…
Did I feel like I was not good enough! Yes…
But the result was…
I started making money with my writing after 5 months of discovering my passion for writing and less than 100 days after setting up a freelance writing business.
Am I done learning and writing?
No.
In fact, come January, 2012, I will be one of the five apprentices to Sandi Krakowski, where we are going to be 'kick-butt'…life changing..product and service moving email copywriters. I am serious about my business and writing career and have invested into learning the highest skills in email copywriting…every business…hotel, travel, doctors, internet marketers…anything…needs an email copywriter.
I have also invested and completed the crafts of travel writing with one of the best in the industry, AWAI's The Ultimate Travel Writer's Program and the Ultimate Travel Writer's Workshop-At-Home-Package.
