The world is mourning today. The literally voice for women and legendary author, Maya Angelou leaves this earth at the age of 86. In honor of the woman who wrote one of my favorite books "I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings" here are seven of her quotes I wish to share with my readers.
1. She comprehended the perversity of life, that in the struggle lies the joy.
2. Hoping for the best, prepared for the worst, and unsurprised by anything in between.
3. Anything that works against you can also work for you once you understand the Principle of Reverse.

4. Life is going to give you just what you put in it. Put your whole heart in everything you do, and pray, then you can wait.
5. If you're for the right thing, you do it without thinking.
6. I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
Maya Angelou's words will be shared to the next generations and many generations to come. For words are containers of power. Words produce life and death. To quote her:
Words are things. You must be careful, careful about calling people out of their names, using racial pejoratives and sexual pejoratives and all that ignorance. Don’t do that. Some day we’ll be able to measure the power of words. I think they are things. They get on the walls. They get in your wallpaper. They get in your rugs, in your upholstery, and your clothes, and finally in to you.
