About Claudia Looi

Let’s get one thing straight. I’m not a full-time travel influencer chasing sunsets for the ‘gram.

I’m a full-time Realtor in Queens and Long Island who just happens to have an incurable love affair with the world.

Before real estate, I spent 12 years in the travel industry — from Kuala Lumpur to Auckland to New York City.

From 2011 to 2019, I was a content creator, long before the term became a buzzword, crafting stories and campaigns for tour companies, wellness brands, and affiliate marketers. During that time, my husband and I took our two kids on a two-year journey around the world (2013–2015), working remotely, virtual homeschooling on the move, and living the digital-nomad dream — from the vineyards of Chile, Argentina, and New Zealand to the Trans-Siberian tracks through Russia, Mongolia, and China.

I started this blog in 2011 as a creative outlet to inspire fellow travelers — and though life and priorities shifted along the way, the spark never left. Now, I’m reworking it as a passion project, a space to share stories, reflections, and the rhythm of a life shaped by travel.

Since 2015, New York has been home base again. But the travel bug never left. I’ve explored 103 countries — many of them more than once — and truth be told, most of my stories never make it online. There are just too many.

This blog isn’t a business — it’s a passion project. A quiet corner where I share a slice of my travel life between open houses, closings, and conversations about selling and buying properties, and overseas homes.

I talk real estate all day — and by night, I check out flights and dream of faraway places.

If you’re curious about how to live a well-traveled life while managing a full-time career — or if you’re interested in selling, buying, or investing in real estate in NYC, Mendoza (Argentina), or Lisbon (Portugal) — let’s connect.

And if food, culture, and connection move you the way they move me, you’ll love Savor NYC Life, my dining collective for curious, globally minded food lovers.

Because life’s too short not to mix business with a little adventure.

Most visitors only spend a few hours in San Marino Most visitors only spend a few hours in San Marino. I decided to stay overnight, and it completely changed the experience.

As the day-trippers left, the streets fell silent. The medieval castle took on a different charm in the warm evening light, the sunset over the surrounding countryside was unforgettable, and dinner was a delicious plate of fresh truffle pasta.

If you’re planning a trip through Italy, don’t just make San Marino a quick stop. Spend the night. You’ll experience a peaceful side of one of the world’s smallest countries that many visitors never get to see.

Would you stay overnight in San Marino?

Nature never stops surprising me. Have you ever seen a seed that can do this?

During our walking tour of Baku, we unexpectedly s During our walking tour of Baku, we unexpectedly stumbled upon a rehearsal of traditional Azerbaijani male dancers. Dressed in their striking chokha costumes and papakha hats, they practiced powerful, warrior-like movements rooted in centuries of Caucasian tradition.

It wasn’t a staged performance for tourists, just a beautiful, authentic glimpse into Azerbaijan’s living culture. These spontaneous moments are often the ones I remember most from my travels.

You haven’t truly experienced Malaysia until you’v You haven’t truly experienced Malaysia until you’ve had a glass of Teh Tarik. 🇲🇾

Known as “pulled tea,” this beloved Malaysian drink is made with strong black tea and sweetened condensed milk, then skillfully poured back and forth to create a smooth, creamy texture and its famous frothy top.

From mamak stalls to family gatherings, Teh Tarik is more than a drink, it’s a taste of Malaysia’s warmth, culture, and everyday life.

Have you tried Teh Tarik before, or would this be on your Malaysia food list? 👇🇲🇾
