Day 19 of 30 Days Countdown to South America and Around the World
Here it goes...shoes! How many pairs of shoes do you pack for a weekend getaway? How about for 18 months? I'm not the type who likes to wear sneakers. I only own one pair of running shoes. They are old and can't travel with me. For help, I asked my son, who is the travel gear expert to find a pair of waterproof shoes that is lightweight and suitable for hiking, walking and running.
With his recommendation and at the price I like, I got Columbia Master of Faster Low Outdry LTR Bungee Cord Hyacinth shoes for less than $40 from REI. Not a bad price for a waterproof shoes for hiking and walking.
Next, flip flops. Flip-flops are essential for casual, beach and home wear. I bought Teva Mush flip-flops from Ross for $11.97. That was a great price.
For dress shoes or more formal wear, I'm bringing my old shoes purchased in Florence, Italy. A one and half inch front covered dark blue shoes.
For everyday casual wear and traveling from airport to airport, I have my old UGG clogs from Zappos.
I'm set for hiking, walking, running, formal dining, casual and beach wear with four pairs of shoes. Three in my luggage and one I'll be wearing.
