This is a homemade cupcake...made by two teen girls. It looks totally professional and impressive that I had to blog about it.
They got the recipe from Butter Lane Cupcakes, a New York City Cupcake Bakery. Here is the link to the recipe. They attempted to make the Vanilla Cupcakes, using a half pound of butter, two and half cups of granulated sugar, five eggs, three cups of cake flour and more.
They used mini cupcake molds to make a few mini cupcakes for those who prefer smaller portions.
Imagine seven cups of confectioner's sugar, 4 sticks of butter to make icing for 24 cupcakes...
Opening up the vanilla bean. And scraping the bean out (below).
These just came out of the oven...
Look at the glorious icing...
Heavenly delicious...not your ordinary cupcake. Definitely worth trying. If you are looking to raise money through bake sales, these cupcakes are your strategy to steal big profits. Instead of the usual cookie cutter cupcakes from store bought pre-mix, brownies or chocolate chip cookies, try something different. Get your kids to try something new.
We have not been to Butter Lane New York, but this recipe found on their Facebook page was a great treat for a lazy Saturday afternoon. It probably came close to the Butter Lane's Vanilla Cupcake baked in the store.
What do you think of these 'professionally' baked cupcakes? Let us know.
