Punta Arenas is the southernmost city on Earth, overlooking the Straits of Magellan. It is the gateway to the southern region (the end of the world). It located about 3000 km south of Santiago and 260 km to Puerto Natales. . Tourists usually come to this city for a day trip to see the Madgalena penguins.
