I use essential oils daily and have been writing for wellness and aromatherapy companies for two years. Raindrop Technique Massage was on my to-do list before leaving Central New York.
Finally this week I had my first Raindrop Technique Massage by an expert massage and raindrop technique therapist, Abigail Kerso of Humble Hands Massage in Liverpool New York.
The room’s ambiance instantly called for relaxation because of the aroma of pure essential oils, soft music and dimly lit dark colored room with a blue curtain.
Raindrop technique uses traditional massage and a reflexology technique called Vita Flex. Nine therapeutic grade essential oils and two massage oils were used in this technique.
First the therapist used Vita Flex therapy on my feet. Vita Flex comes from the “vitality through the reflexes”. She worked on my feet with her fingertips using nine essential oils. The oils were applied individually to specific points to release energy. This technique is able to release tension, congestion and imbalances.
A great sense of relief and relaxation came through my whole body after the Vita Flex therapy.
Next I laid on my stomach and the therapist started dropping the oils directly onto my spine from about six inches above the body. She started with oregano, followed by thyme. The oils in Raindrop Technique are Valor, Thyme, Basil, Wintergreen, Cypress, Peppermint, Oregano, Marjoram and Aroma Siez.
This technique was developed by aromatologist Dr. Gary Young by combining ancient Lakota wisdom with the science of essential oils, aromatherapy and the massages mentioned above.
It helps release toxins, balance energy, relieve stress, facilitate open energy flow throughout the body and bring a harmonious balance of every part of the body. It also helps reduce spinal inflammations and kills viruses that hibernate along the spine.
After the back massage, she started working on my neck using White Angelica essential oil. I love the smell of these oils.
If you are like me, you may be out of balance because of the exposure to toxins, nutrient-deficient foods, little exercise and stress. Health problems usually start from all these exposures. Get a PDF of raindrop technique here.
The whole session took an hour. I know there is no magic pill or one time work to have excellent results. But that one-hour was well spent because I fell asleep at 9:45 p.m. that night.
Let’s take a closer look at the nine oils and their benefits:
Valor – brings energy and electrical alignment to the body. It is often referred to as “chiropractor in a bottle”.
Thyme- most antiseptic essential oil and may help to overcome fatigue and tiredness.
Basil- relaxes the muscles, smooths muscles and is beneficial for mental fatigue.
Wintergreen – helps bone, muscle and joint discomfort.
Cypress- supports circulatory system.
Peppermint- soothing, helps with digestive problems, improves mental accuracy and soothes respiratory system.
Oregano- helps stimulate the immune system, balances metabolism and strengthens the vital centers of the body.
Marjoram- calms the respiratory system and assists with spasms and relaxes muscles.
Aroma Siez- helps relax and relieve tight, tired and sore muscles.
