Day 12 of 30 Days Countdown to South America and Around the World.
I'm so proud of my son who just built his own WordPress website and called it, The Travel Gear Reviews. He was already making money doing graphic designing for my clients and on my website. Upon our suggestion about a website, he bought the URL, decided on the theme and built his website, wrote the pages and did the graphics in three days.
He is a ninth grader doing virtual school and will be traveling with us for 18 months to discover his passion, explore the world, do videos, write and just have fun. One of his plans is to be in London watching his favorite soccer team, Chelsea FC in action. Just yesterday, he did a slide show and showed my husband and I the pricing, the different tickets and when to purchase soccer game tickets in England for Chelsea FC and Spain for Barcelona. I must say, the presentation was impressive and I was sold.
I believe having him home in the last six months and doing virtual school instead of going to a brick-and-mortar school has helped him discover the world of business, online learning and ignite his passion. Jonathan is continuing his virtual schooling while we travel for 18 months. He is scheduled to finish his four years of high school in three years. We have written a few articles on the advantages of online education and how to prepare a teen to travel the world without missing out on quality education. Here are some of the articles:
1. Preparing Teens To Travel: Online Education
2. How Could You Compare Traveling Around the World With Kids and Private Schooling
3. An Education Choice for Traveling Family
4. The Traveling Abroad Advantage
In his own words, he described himself as an out-of-the-box thinker. Throughout the planning stages of our soon to be RTW (Around the World Trip) Jonathan was the most reluctant traveler. As we are approaching our departure, he is becoming the most enthusiastic and prepared traveler. He is the one who did all our travel gear research, helped us shop and got the best deals usually free shipping or free two days shipping. He seems to have cracked some codes in that area.
I hope you will visit his website and let him know what you think. Travel will mold him and help him explore the world beyond his textbooks. On the day when we cut the cable three years ago, Jonathan was really unhappy. My question to him was, "would you like to watch soccer on TV all your life or would you prefer a live game in the stadium with your favorite team playing?" I guess he made his choice to see it live.

We are given choices in life. Og Mandino said: Choice! The key is choice. You have options. You need not spend your life wallowing in failure, ignorance, grief, poverty, shame, and self-pity! There is a better way to live!

Most visitors only spend a few hours in San Marino Most visitors only spend a few hours in San Marino. I decided to stay overnight, and it completely changed the experience.

As the day-trippers left, the streets fell silent. The medieval castle took on a different charm in the warm evening light, the sunset over the surrounding countryside was unforgettable, and dinner was a delicious plate of fresh truffle pasta.

If you’re planning a trip through Italy, don’t just make San Marino a quick stop. Spend the night. You’ll experience a peaceful side of one of the world’s smallest countries that many visitors never get to see.

Would you stay overnight in San Marino?

Nature never stops surprising me. Have you ever seen a seed that can do this?

Dressed in their striking chokha costumes and papakha hats, they practiced powerful, warrior-like movements rooted in centuries of Caucasian tradition.

It wasn’t a staged performance for tourists, just a beautiful, authentic glimpse into Azerbaijan’s living culture. These spontaneous moments are often the ones I remember most from my travels.

You haven’t truly experienced Malaysia until you’v You haven’t truly experienced Malaysia until you’ve had a glass of Teh Tarik. 🇲🇾

Known as “pulled tea,” this beloved Malaysian drink is made with strong black tea and sweetened condensed milk, then skillfully poured back and forth to create a smooth, creamy texture and its famous frothy top.

From mamak stalls to family gatherings, Teh Tarik is more than a drink, it’s a taste of Malaysia’s warmth, culture, and everyday life.

Have you tried Teh Tarik before, or would this be on your Malaysia food list? 👇🇲🇾
