If you’ve ever wondered, “What’s the best place to stay in Mendoza’s wine country?”, this is the review you were probably hoping someone would write.
Because when a resort earns global attention for design-forward rooms, vineyard views, hammam rituals, and a restaurant that locals and travelers actually rave about, you don’t just stay there, you remember it.
For me, that resort was Entre Cielos Wellness Resort & Spa, the boutique wine-country retreat that opened in 2011 and immediately landed on my travel wish list.
My husband and I spent 24 slow, indulgent hours here…and yes, we booked it on Expedia, where the rate was lower than booking direct. (Travel tip: always compare.)
This guide walks you through exactly what you get, what we experienced, and what you need to know before booking.
Why I Finally Chose Entre Cielos
Entre Cielos isn’t the easiest place to book last-minute. It’s small, exclusive, and designed for travelers who want nature, wine, architecture, and wellbeing wrapped into one experience.
I opted for the Duplex Suite, not one of the vineyard lofts. We had already stayed in vineyard rooms in Tupungato earlier in the trip, another story for another blog post. So, for our stay at the Lujan de Cuyo area, I wanted something closer to the restaurant, pool, and hammam.
It turned out to be the perfect choice.
Inside the Duplex Suite: Spacious, Modern, and Thoughtfully Designed
Walking into the two-story suite feels like stepping into your own private townhouse. A quiet, airy, and deeply comfortable space.
First Floor

- A large living room
- Sliding glass doors leading to an outdoor sitting area facing a small, green garden
- TV loaded with Netflix, YouTube, and more
- A minibar filled with complimentary beverages and snacks (you can restock if needed)
- A complimentary bottle of Malbec waiting for us on arrival (a signature Entre Cielos touch)

Second Floor
A long set of stairs opens into a light-filled space designed for lingering:
- Huge soaking bathtub

- Spacious shower room
- Separate toilet area
- Generous closets
- Two windows on each side fill the suite with natural light
- A king bed with side tables, another TV, and a reading chair
- Easy access to the bathroom from both sides of the bedroom
It’s modern without feeling cold, luxurious without feeling pretentious, and quiet enough that you can hear the breeze at night.
The Complimentary Wine Tasting: Where I Learned Something New About Mendoza

At 6 PM, we joined the resort’s complimentary wine-tasting class with the in-house sommelier. (Only six people per session, another reason this place feels exclusive.)
I expected to hear the usual Malbec story. Instead, I learned something surprising:
Cabernet Franc is exploding in Mendoza.
- Plantings have increased over 115% in the past decade
- 81% of Argentina’s Cabernet Franc grows in Mendoza
- The best bottles come from Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley
- High-altitude areas like Gualtallary like Casa El Enemigo Winery are producing stunningly elegant Cabernet Franc
- Cabernet Franc is now thriving as both a single-varietal wine and a blending component
- Chardonnay is also becoming a major focus for winemakers

Mendoza wine country is evolving fast. It’s not the Malbec-only region many travelers imagine. It’s becoming one of the most diverse wine regions in the New World.
Dining at Nube Restaurant: Four Meals, Zero Disappointments

We ate four meals at Nube, and each one was memorable.
Lunch (Arrival Day)

- Burrata with seaweed chutney, asparagus, hazelnut hummus, strawberries in pine vinegar, caramelized peanuts
- Chicken thigh with mustard and pearl onion sauce, sweet potato, carrot and ginger purée

Inventive, fresh, beautifully plated.
Dinner
We originally planned to try the five-course tasting menu. Hunger levels disagreed, so we ordered:
- Octopus anticuchero with roasted potatoes, sea sauce, white garlic, and broad beans
- Ribeye with pommes bouchon, garlic and miso mayo, sun-dried tomato and walnut pesto
- Paired with Malbec, naturally
Breakfast
Breakfast is included and surprisingly abundant:
- Fresh fruits
- Fresh juices
- Pastries and breads
- Cold cuts
- Plus an a la carte menu

We joined the morning yoga class beforehand, which made breakfast feel both earned and indulgent.
Lunch (Departure Day)
- Pâté en croûte (hunting meat, wild boar, deer)
- Trout with turnip creamy purée, orange sauce, mung bean salad, grapefruit, cilantro, and roasted zucchin
- Paired with Mendoza Chardonnay

Nube truly exceeded expectations every time.
The Hammam Experience
Entre Cielos is known for having the first authentic hammam in Latin America, and it is one of the highlights of the property.
Our 90-minute session cost about ninety dollars per person and included multiple hot and warm rooms, controlled steam, and a sequence designed to detox, slow the mind, and relieve the body. The heat settles into your muscles. The silence settles into your thoughts.
At the end, we were served tea and sweets. It was a beautiful, grounding experience.

What Most Travelers Want to Know Before Booking
I had the same questions before staying here. These are the ones most travelers now ask. After staying at Entre Cielos, I can answer them clearly:
Is Entre Cielos one of the best places to stay in Mendoza?
Yes. It is a standout boutique wellness resort with strong design, a good restaurant, and a genuine sense of calm.
Is it family-friendly or better for adults?
It leans strongly toward adults. Couples and wellness travelers will appreciate it most.
Which room category should I book?
The Duplex Suite for more space. The Vineyard Lofts for scenic drama and vineyard immersion.

Is the hammam worth it?
Yes. It is beautifully done and deeply relaxing.
How far is it from Mendoza City?
About twenty to thirty minutes by car.
Is the restaurant worth staying in for all meals?
Absolutely. If you’re staying for just 24 hours like we were, we ate four meals there by choice. But if you’re staying longer, do venture out. There are so many options near the resort.
What Your Stay Includes
All stays at Entre Cielos include:
- Breakfast at the restaurant
- Concierge services
- High speed Wi-Fi
- Nespresso machine with unlimited capsules
- Complimentary infusions
- Complimentary bottled water
- Complimentary minibar beverages
- A welcome drink
- A complimentary bottle of wine in the room (different room category different types of wine)
- Wine-tasting class for up to six guests
- Yoga class on select days

Is Entre Cielos Worth It? My Verdict After 24 Hours
Absolutely, especially if you’re looking for:
- Wine-country luxury without stuffiness
- A resort that blends wellness, gastronomy, and design
- A base close to Luján de Cuyo’s best vineyards
- A quiet environment for reconnecting with yourself or your partner

This is the kind of place where one night resets you.
And yes… I would stay again.
Where to Book It (and Why Expedia Made Sense for Us)
We booked our stay on Expedia.com, not because I avoid booking direct, but because the rate was surprisingly lower. It may vary seasonally, so I always tell readers, friends and family:
Compare before you commit.
Check Expedia, check direct, and choose the better deal.
For our dates, Expedia won.
Ready to Experience Mendoza at Its Best?
If you’re planning a trip to Mendoza wine country and wondering,
